What Causes Atopic Dermatitis? |
Atopic Dermatitis is a genetic disease which stems from the combination of environmental and genetic factors. Such people have the natural hypersensitivity and a prolonged tendency to scratch or rub their body in response to the itching sensation. It is believed that these people have major allergies towards common allergens like soaps, detergents, woolen clothes, sweat, jewelry etc. Their sensitivities towards these agents are so aggravated that a mere contact with them can trigger the progression of flare-ups among them. Further, several research studies have well proven that this disease is linked with many atopic disorders and seasonal allergies like asthma, hay fever et al. In addition, it is also observed that children who have atopic dermatitis tend to develop the above mentioned seasonal allergies at some point of time. |
