Is Dyshidrotic Eczema Curable?

Dyshidrotic eczema is a skin disorder which affects approximately 1 out of every 5000 people. According to the available studies, this skin disorder is incurable in nature because the patients who have been treated and cured have the risk of dyshidrotic eczema attack even in the future, if they don’t take proper care. However, with medications and preventive measures, this risk of occurrence can be reduced.

Along with immunosuppressant medication, topical creams, light therapy and oral steroids, some natural remedies must be followed to avoid further attacks in future. The following are the vital tips which the dyshidrotic eczema patient who has been cured must follow for the future safety:

  • It is important to keep the feet and palms dry.
  • Bath must be taken with cold water or lukewarm water. Hot water baths can aggravate the situation.
  • Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals, soaps and synthetic fabrics.
  • While cleaning it is important to use hand gloves.
  • Avoid rubbing of skin. A clean towel must be used to keep the palms dry.
  • Avoid eating processed foods.
  • Avoid consumption of caffeine and exposure to metals.

It is important to continue the medication course as per the doctor’s recommendation. Leaving the medicine in between can again increase the risk of eczema attack.
