What is Eczema?

Eczema is a chronic disorder that causes irritation and redness in the skin. They develop changes in the upper dermis and epidermis which leads to dry and cracked skin. It is one of the most common skin diseases which are found in approximately 10-20% of the total world’s population. Due to the inflammation in the skin, the skin becomes flaky, red and itchy. Eczema can affect anyone however the possibility increases in case you a family history.

Currently, it is an incurable disease but there are many treatments available for you that will minimize the symptoms of eczema. There are various categories in eczema and it depends on the type of irritation and the nature of the disease. One of the most common types of eczema is atopic dermatitis which is seen in most of the people affected by eczema followed by occupational and nummular eczema. This disease can attack any age group ranging from infant to adults. They either stay lifelong and keep on appearing after some interval or may just come once. By changing the way of living to a certain extent will help greatly in preventing or reducing the symptoms of this disease. Also make sure that you take proper medication once diagnosed by eczema.
