Though Infant Eczema is a common skin problem, but there is a possibility that in its early stages it might get missed from detection. The diagnosis of this disease is based upon the appearance of the skin and family history of allergies and other problems associated with eczema. Initial rashes which may appear as acne may actually be the early symptoms of infantile eczema which may be present without additional symptoms like scaling and weeping.
The initial symptoms of this disorder generally start from the face and appear when the infant is around 4 weeks old. Besides the skin examination, the diagnosis of Infant Eczema requires proper care by the parents to determine the type of rashes. Various baby eczema pictures can also be studied by parents in order to diagnose the problem. Though the symptoms of this problem mainly starts from the face, but for the proper determination they must also be looked at other body parts like arms and scalp. Initial rashes at later stage may appear as red, blotchy and dry areas. The cases which are determined as mild eczema can be treated and soothed with topical creams and lotions whereas the severe cases needs prescribed steroid ointments for the treatment.
