How is Nummular Eczema Diagnosed?

The diagnosis for Nummular Eczema is done based on the skin appearance, family history and details of personal health.  The doctors diagnose the condition of this allergy by looking at the skin and asking about the medical history of the family. After the symptoms like skin lesions, itching, raw and scaly skin and redness appear, immediately contact your doctor for the diagnosis of the problem.

Since it is difficult to diagnose Nummular Eczema and to differentiate it from other skin disorders, skin biopsy may also be done to rule out other possibilities of infection. Nummular Eczema may start with one or many lesions which may persist for months and even years. In order to diagnose this disease the symptoms should be looked in the most common sites like legs, arms, torso and hands. This skin disorder is relatively uncommon and mainly occurs in elderly people in the age group of 55 to 65 and moreover it is more frequent in men as compared to women.
