A person suffering from Atopic Eczema may have dry, itchy, broken, red and cracked skin. When this disorder gets flared up, it might result into scaly skin. The skin may also get abnormally swollen during this condition. Possibility of bacterial infection is also there.

Thus depending upon the severity of the condition, the symptoms of this disease varies. People suffering from mild form of this eczema experience dry skin in small areas and occasional itching. In severe cases of this disorder, widespread dryness may be present on the skin along with constant oozing fluid and constant itching. Moreover during severe condition the scratching can make your skin bleed and even disrupt your sleep. Itch scratch cycle may also develop which may even worsen the itching condition. Irritation during Atopic Eczema mainly occurs around the joints of the body like elbows, knees and knuckles. This type of eczema is chronic and familial and its symptoms may either increase or disappear over a time frame. Moreover people suffering from this problem also experience other atopic diseases like conjunctivitis, hay fever and asthma. Children are more prone to get affected by the symptoms of this disease.
